Frequently Asked Questions
What type of therapy do you practice?
My approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, which means I offer a warm, supportive space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted, and empowered to grow. Building on that foundation, I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you navigate difficult thoughts and emotions with greater ease, stay present, and make meaningful changes aligned with your values. I take an integrative approach, meeting you where you are and adjusting treatment to fit your unique needs, goals, and pace.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is all about getting to know you and helping you feel comfortable. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work on, and any questions or concerns you may have. I’ll also share a bit about how I work and go over things like confidentiality and what therapy can look like moving forward. There’s no pressure to share everything right away—this is your space, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
How long will therapy take?
Therapy is a highly individual process, so the length of time can vary depending on your goals, needs, and what’s going on in your life. Some people find a few months of therapy helpful for working through a specific issue, while others choose to continue longer for deeper personal growth and ongoing support. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is working for you, and we’ll move at a pace that feels supportive and aligned with your goals.
Do you take insurance?
I’m not currently in-network with insurance providers, but I do plan to accept insurance in the near future. In the meantime, I’m accepting self-pay clients and can provide superbills upon request if you’d like to seek reimbursement through your insurance.
Do you offer reduced rates or sliding scale?
Yes, I offer sliding scale rates based on your annual income to help make therapy more accessible. If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to discuss options and see if a reduced rate is available for you.
